Client Overview

An American video game publisher, was the world's first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles.

Business Need

The client was using proprietary content management solution across 40+ micro sites in 7 languages. Running a proprietary CMS with various partners (marketing agencies & 12 affiliated game development studios) resulted in the development (and management) of numerous customized websites. The existing approach was not only costly but also made the content publication very complex and time consuming.

Solution

The client carried out an extensive comparative analysis of Alfresco over existing & other solutions and decided to migrate to Alfresco based WCM since there were many more architectural and technological benefits in addition to cost saving. The client selected CIGNEX as a system integrator based on the proven track record & expertise of successfully delivering over 80+ ECM solutions. Key features of the site include:

  • Consolidation of vital information into a single content management system (Alfresco)
  • Unified Consumer Database (UCD) in Oracle 10g database for various targeted marketing campaigns
  • Simpler site rollback, workflow, versioning, check-in / check-out and efficient search
  • Age gating of digital assets - automatic tagging of digital assets with Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings
  • Content filtering based on user's age
